I am living proof that we are never "too old" to  pursue a passion in life.  Though I  always loved to photograph, it was in my mid 40's that I decided to pursue my passion for photography further, with course study,  mentoring/working with experienced professionals & becoming involved with the Professional Photographers of Canada.   I have received five National Accreditations in various areas of Photgraphy, and in 2011 have received my "Craftsman of Photographic Art".   Several of my images have qualified to hang in the National Image Salon of the PPOC, as well as receiving Awards of  Merit for my images qualifying in the Provincial Image Salon of PPOC Alt.   In 2008 I was awarded "Best Animal Portrait" by PPOC Atl.

I love all aspects of photography, and find I am most in my element when working with children & pets, primarily dogs.   This comes naturally to me, having spent the last 20 years as a fulltime homemaker & mom.   I have logged many an hour volunteering at the schools, & have been actively participating/volunteering  in the purebred dog fancy for several years.   I love kids,  I love animals, and both usually sense this.

My history with purebred dogs is certainly an asset when it comes to photographing animals.  I have trained my own dogs to obedience titles, and for several years,  taught Puppy Obedience classes.  These experiences are a strong asset for working with your pet, and reading their body language,  knowing what steps to take to make this a positive experience for them. Patience and a calm atmosphere is very important.  Along with obedience and draft/carting work, I have also trained & shown my own dogs in the Conformation Dog Shows, achieving several Best In Show Wins, and being amongst the top winning bullmastiffs in Canada for the years they were shown.  This experience has placed me in a position where I  know how important it is to capture that “image” which best depicts the strongest qualities & personality of your pet, be that a show dog or a beloved pet.    They are all winners in our hearts!
